Asterion buys DC campus

Infrastructure investor Asterion Industrial Partners has bought the Covilha data centre campus from Altice Portugal for €120m.

The centre is 220km from Lisbon and currently has 6.8MW of installed capacity and can accommodate up to 75MW of new capacity through blocks within the existing campus and another 175MW on adjacent land with power already secured.

Altice Portugal will remain the anchor tenant under a long-term master services agreement. Asterion was advised by Clifford Chance and Morais Leitao on legal and EY on financial and tax.

A year ago Asterion sold it first data centre investment Nabiax to Aermont Capital. The Spanish operator was pursuing a valuation of close to €1bn. Nabiax has 35MW of operational DC capacity and could expand to more than 100MW in the medium term.
