Funding Ghana's first greenfield IPP

In December 2014, Cenpower Generation Company Ltd achieved financial close, mobilising US$890m for construction of the Kpone Independent Power Project (IPP), comprising a 350MW combined-cycle gas turbine power plant, a 161kV substation, and fuel supply, treatment and delivery infrastructure. The project, to be located in Tema, near Accra, Ghana, is the first greenfield, project-financed IPP in Ghana.
