Acciona plans 2GW
Acciona Energia plans to develop more than 2GW of renewable capacity in South-East Asia, including 281MW wind and solar it recently won in Round 4 of the Department of Energy’s green energy auction programme, GEA4.
It recently secured a 20-year power purchase agreement for the 101MW Kalayaan 2 wind farm in Laguna and the 180MW Daanbantayan solar plant in Cebu. Kalayaan is already under construction and Daanbantayan is targeted to commence construction before the end of the year.
The company and its partner The Blue Circle have reorganised their regional partnerships to focus on key markets. Acciona will focus on the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam while The Blue Circle will operate in Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Cambodia.
