Regis Bittencourt highway tender due
National land transport agency ANTT is set to approve a simplified competitive process for the 383km Rodovia Regis Bittencourt highway concession, with an auction due on July 13.
The aim is to bring in some R$11bn (US$2.2bn) in investment into the highway for a 15-year concession period. The road includes the BR-116 and runs between Sao Paulo and Curitiba that is currently held by highway concessionaire Arteris.
Among the planned works are more than 90km of lighting in critical areas, approximately 88km of third lanes, improvements to access roads, the installation of pedestrian overpasses, bike paths and wildlife crossings.
