Fortescue 800MW wind approved

The scheme is one of two projects planned in an area 300km south-west of Townsville, the other being the 1GW Wongalee wind farm project. The two projects are part of a 10GW green hydrogen, wind and solar energy hub plan announced in 2022 by Fortescue and Andrew Forrest's Windlab (see PFI 733).
