Bluestar and Vitol in BESS JV
Bluestar Energy Capital's German subsidiary Noveria Energy and Vitol-backed power company VPI have formed a joint venture to develop a 700MW portfolio of utility-scale battery projects in Germany by 2030.
The pipeline includes five BESS projects in the Baden-Wuerttemberg and Brandenburg federal states, with individual project capacities between 60MW and 300MW. Schemes are expected to start coming online in 2027 and to be fully delivered by the end of the decade. A&O Shearman advised Bluestar on the establishment of the joint venture.
