SMC plans 135MW Pagbilao 1 solar

SMC Global Light and Power (SGLP) plans to develop a 135MW Pagbilao 1 solar project in in Barangay Ibabang Polo in Quezon province, Philippines.

The company, which is a subsidiary of San Miguel Global Power Holdings, is in the process of applying for an environmental compliance certificate with the Environmental Management Bureau of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, according to reports. It plans to use solar modules from Trina Solar and Huawei string converters. It also will tap existing roads and would not encroach protected areas. Construction is targeted to commence in Q3 2027, with pre-commissioning expected in Q4 2028. The solar farm is anticipated to be achieve full commercial operations in Q2 2029.
