Patria wins Sao Paulo highway
Patria Investimentos has taken over the concession for the 285km Paranapanema Lot stretch of the Raposo Tavares highway in Sao Paulo.
Patria will invest R$5.8bn (US$1.1bn) to upgrade the link between Ourinhos and Itapetininga.
Patria-backed Infra BR V Missouri Investimento beat two other bidders for the mandate last year by offering an 11.6% discount on the maximum annual public payment of R$310.2m. Other bidders were the Viaja+SP Consortium formed by the Galapagos fund, M4 Investimentos, Engenharia Materiais and Tracado Construcoes, which offered a discount of 10.6%, and CS Infra, which offered 3.2%.
The concession will last for 30 years and works include widening 147km of highways, construction of 29 footbridges, adding 29 pedestrian overpasses, 84 bus stops and 56km of shoulders. Also planned are 13km of side roads, 15 uneven crossings and 39 level crossings. The Paranapanema Lot passes through 13 municipalities and involves sections of the Raposo Tavares (SP-270) and complementary highways (SP-189, SP-278, SPA-204/270, SPA-245/270, SPA-326 and SPA-312).
