Scatec lands solar PF

Norway’s Scatec has closed a R$150m (US$27m) non-recourse project finance loan backing its 142MW Rio Urucuia solar plant in Minas Gerais.

Banco de Nordeste do Brasil arranged the financing, which adds to a €25m loan deal agreed with Impact Fund Denmark to partially fund Scatec’s equity share. Overall project costs are R$506m. Scatec fully owns the solar plant and plans to sell equity once the project enters commercial operation, slated for H1 2026. About 75% of its output has been contracted by Statkraft under a 10-year power purchase agreement, with the remainder expected to be sold to private offtakers.
