The project will now go by the name of Northern Battery and be developed at the Northern Power Station - the site of South Australia's last coal plant. The expected cost of the project is A$400m (US$262m).

In July, Ampyr obtained A$340m in project financing from Bank of China, CBA, Coöperatieve Rabobank, HSBC, Société Générale, and UOB for the 300MW/600MWh Wellington battery energy storage system (BESS), which will be located in Wellington, New South Wales.
