GenConn seeks financing
GenConn Energy LLC, a 50-50 partnership between United Illuminating Company and NRG Energy, is seeking US$300m in project financing for a 200MW peak generation facility and is said to be in talks with Scotia Capital. The Connecticut Department of Public Utility Control (DPUC) awarded the team the contract to build the peaker at NRG's existing site in Middletown, CT. The new units are expected to be online by June 2011.
