EMEA: Qatar - Qatulum problems explained
Qatulum, the QP/Norsk Hydro joint venture, has said its power shutdown problems were due to a an external earth fault and unexpected difficulties in restarting the power plant following the fault. The fault disrupted the connection to the national grid. The scheme will now be delayed for 2-3 months, not 6 months as had been feared and the cost could be met by insurance.
