Alligator Alley now due in May

The Florida Department of Transportation has extended the bid submission date for the 50-year Alligator Alley lease from January 9 to May 8. FDOT said the five-month extension was granted at the request of shortlisted bidders, and noted that the disruption in the credit markets hindered prospective bidders' ability to raise needed debt for the upfront payment. The move was the second extension – the due date was first set for December 15 2008. Seven bidders were pre-qualified to bid on the project. They are Alligator Alley Development Partners, made up of OHL Concesiones and Carlyle Infrastructure Partners; Atlantia with non-equity partners Autostrade and Electronic Transaction Consultants; A2 Transportation Partners, made up of Brisa, Companhia de Concessoes Rodoviarias and JP Morgan IIF Acquisitions; Vinci Concessions Development ...
