John Arbouw (Sydney)
John Arbouw is Australia Editor of PFI.
Based in Sydney, has been a journalist, writer, business advisor and company director for more than 40 years, having worked in Canada, Singapore, New Zealand and Australia.
John has written for the London Financial Times (alternate Australian bureau chief), The Asian Wall Street Journal, International Public Works Finance (Australian Editor), Institutional Investor (New York), Business Newspapers Australia (Company director and columnist), Australian Business (columnist and finance writer), Asia Pacific Trade Magazines, Singapore, (Deputy Managing Director and Publisher), Australian Business Monthly (Associate Editor, Asian Editor and columnist) and The Bulletin/Newsweek (Business Correspondent, Acting Business Editor, Acting Editor).
He has been on the Editorial Board of FINSIA (Australia's premier organisation for finance professionals) and edited their prestigious publication, JASSA, a technical and informative journal for brokers, analysts, financial planners and professionals in the financial services industry.
John has provided advice to the Federal Government Infrastructure Loan Council on infrastructure funding, written a technical paper for the Australian Roads Research Board on toll road funding, and was executive director of the boutique advisory firm Public Private Partnerships Pty Ltd in 1996 which advised the South Australian government on the A$1bn privatisation of its water and sewerage business.
He has been a regular business and finance commentator for several radio stations, and as a company director and company secretary of publicly listed oil and gas company CityView Energy was directly involved in raising project finance.
